I published this poem one year ago. I decided to share it with you all again. I suppose the reason is I have been pondering on cycles that I continue to observe in my own life. Let me know if you can relate in the comments. Also, you can find all of my poems on my website: AdamLujan.com
Feelings of inadequacy are a delicacy That make you unaware others don’t share Your specific tastes. So you label it awkwardness or Peculiarness or a free spirit. You claim that events have made you stronger. And then, when you least expect it, You turn toward the ones trying to help And you share that same cuisine and hope They have acquired the same taste so that They don’t leave you alone. You hope this is now Their new normal.
